Thanks so much to everyone that’s donated.

If you haven't donated yet and would like to, or if you have no idea what we're talking about, you can find out more information here: http://www.indiegogo.com/thewelcome-bicentennial?a=1673478

On a related note, here’s a compilation of our attempts to make the fundraising video we published last night. As you can see, it was harder than we thought it would be!

It's true!

We're happy to announce that after a few weeks of waiting, the video for "Bear Trap" is now officially available for viewing!

Shot and directed by Chicago skate video guru Abe "Z" Zverow, this video follows Our Heroes as they get picnicky in the forest and deal with a bear who's after their honey...and maybe more.

Enjoy!

We're very happy to announce that as of this morning, we are official finalists for VH1 and Whole Foods' Raw and Unprocessed National Contest!

How it works: 10 acts compete, the act that receives the most online votes wins a trip to Napa Valley to perform!

Where to go: You can visit the Raw and Unprocessed website right here and click the green VOTE NOW button to cast your vote for us!

Voting is allowed once daily.  Frequent and/or machine-assisted voting is encouraged.

We just spent 2 very fun days running around the Thatcher Woods Forest Preserve in River Forest, IL filming a music video for "Bear Trap."  It's amazing what a full-body bear costume and some borrowed supersoakers will get you.

Our good friend and video guru Abe Zverow shot and directed the video, which will be out soon.  Props also to Ilse Miller for fashion & art direction, and to Aaron Lesser, for being one hell of a furry menace.

Below are some pictures from the shoot.  We'll let you know when it's out!

Well, it only took nearly a week, but we finally got videos up from Gehring's acoustic performance last Friday at Chicago's Urban Sandbox.  Here are a few highlights:
A little earlier in the evening, the crowd was lucky enough to catch an acoustic performance by Casey, too.  He played his song, "Milwaukee."
All in all, a great night!  For videos from Gehring's whole set, visit our YouTube page.

You can catch us in regular form at our next show, Thursday 7/5 at Ultra Lounge with Bomb Sawyers.  Check out our Shows page for more details.

Two years ago, Casey and I started what would become The Welcome (previous band name spoiler: The Forest At Night).  For those of you that subscribe to our mailing list, you may have already heard, but Casey will be leaving The Welcome at the beginning of June.

At the end of this summer, Casey will be moving to New Orleans as part of a big opportunity he has for his writing career.  We've already begun to make peace with this fact, but we're also happy we still have a chance to spend the summer with the C-Dog before his departure.

Our show at Reggie's tonight will be our last show with Casey on drums, after which Jonah will take over on percussion.  Even if you can't make it tonight, we hope you will all send some positive vibes Casey's way.  Here's to a fantastic bandmate, an undeniably talented musician, and a true friend!

We are proud to announce the release of our latest EP, Honey, Honey!

This EP is the result of our very hardest efforts, and we couldn't be happier to share it with you!
You can listen to and download the EP right here on our website.
It's also available on iTunes.
We also just got our hands on physical copies (see above picture), which you can buy at any of our upcoming shows.

Happy Wednesday, everyone!

Love,
The Welcome

Our newest EP, Honey Honey, has been mastered!  Bill Kavanagh at BobDog Studios did a really great job.
In a few weeks, we'll have hard copies.
Where can you buy said hard copies?  Well, our upcoming shows at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn and Cole's Bar in Chicago would be good bets.
How much?  5 clams, not a penny more!
Glory, glory, glory!

Yep.  We're all done recording!

We still need to come up with name for this EP.
We still need the EP mixed (and mastered).
We still need to press copies.

But we're all done recording!

It's an exciting evening.
